CATIA Automation Success Stories From People Like You

One of the hardest parts about writing macros for CATIA V5 is convincing others about the power of automation. I’ve seen it all too often and maybe so have you. As fredtheblue posted on our forum:

Managers are generally ignorant of the benefit of VBA automation. If I approach them and say I can save them time if they give me 2-3 days to develop a macro they simply won’t authorize it. They think throwing bodies or working around the clock with the mouse on fire is the best way to get a task out of the door quicker.

It’s a challenge we all have to face, for sure.

Fortunately, it is a challenge that can be overcome. But you don’t have to listen to me talk about. Several of my readers and fellow engineers have shared with me their success stories about how using automation has truly helped improve their job, project, or career. Read about these CATIA automation success stories here.

Most of these stories stem from engineers who didn’t know anything about programming until they stumbled upon my website. If you’re sitting on the fence about fully embracing learning how to program CATIA macros or if you’re trying to convince your boss to give you a shot at automating a process, hopefully you can point to this page as an example or template about the positive effect it can have.

I hope to keep growing and adding onto this page so if you have your own success story, large or small, please comment or email me and tell me all about it.
