Apologies in advance for the long winded dilemma.

I have 2 different NC software’s to deal with in our shop.
One is Work-NC and it reads CatParts & Assembly’s beautifully.
It will even show the tree just like in Catia. Real slick.
However the other one is Camtool. This one will also read V5
files but it does not have the tree function. So now we have
the tedious task of making sure stuff is on different layers
and labeling the geometric sets and bodies just so we can
do a screen dump showing for example :
    Lifter#1 ( Layer#60 )
    Lifter#1 Stk Blk ( Layer#61 )
    Lifter#1 Ext surfs ( Layer#62 )
Ugggghhhh ~! Do you feel my pain lol.

    Any suggestions on this ?
At the very least is there a way to dump out
a text version of the naming in the tree ?
Presently we do a screen dump.

PS – does anyone else work with Camtool ???

Hi. I’ve worked with Vericut but not Camtool. You can export the spec tree to a TXT file by using the code below. Does that work for you?
