I don’t know off the top of my head, I’ll have to look into it for you.
Yeah, collapse all is very easy though.
What do you mean you are getting but not selecting the part? Can you share the code you already have?
So is just displaying the value in a message box not good enough?

Hi. This will show you how to write to Excel: http://www.scripting4v5.com/how-to-launch-excel-from-catia-v5/
I have other articles on how to get the nomenclature, try doing a search on my site.
Hi. Yeah, sounds like it should be easy to implement. You could search for everything that has the same name. Or you could scroll through every item in the tree and check if the name matches the name of the original selection. Try it yourself first and let me know if you get stuck.
Welcome to the forum JorgeNoro! Thanks for buying my book and I hope it has helped you. That’s awesome you’ve been using CATIA since you were 16.
Please take this survey to help me understand how I can best help you learn macros: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/H72C5WG
Hi. What do you mean by place a component? Place in 3D space? What are the exact steps you envision the user and the program will follow?
Hi Polo. I’ve created part lists in Excel from CATProduct data. Changing the viewpoint to iso is actually an example taken straight out of my book (http://www.vbpdf.website). Here’s how it is done:
‘declare the active document
Dim oActDoc As Document
Set oActDoc = CATIA.ActiveDocument
‘define the camera
Dim camIsoView As Camera3D
Set camIsoView = oActDoc.Cameras.Item(“* iso”)
Dim oIsoViewPoint As Viewpoint3D
Set oIsoViewPoint = camIsoView.Viewpoint3D
‘define the active window
Dim oActWin As Window
Set oActWin = CATIA.ActiveWindow
‘ set desired viewpoint for active viewer
Dim oActViewer As Viewer3D
Set oActViewer = oActWin.ActiveViewer
oActViewer.Viewpoint3D = oIsoViewPoint
Let me know if you need any more help making your parts list, and I would love to see the finished product.
Hi Dani. Glad to see you are trying to get into the world of macros and automation! I highly recommend you join my free email course for a quick introduction to macros here: http://www.scripting4v5.com/newsletter/
It should be pretty straight forward to find and delete all pocket features. Join the course, give the macro a try, then let us know where you get stuck and we’ll help you out!
That’s good advice vik, to spell out the instructions and list the benefits for the users. I’ll keep that in mind.
Thanks for sharing fredtheblue. I know the feeling and have personally experienced everything you mentioned.
Hi Dexter and Polo, nice to meet you! Thanks for the kind words and for introducing yourself on the forum, always exciting to meet new CATIA users.
OK, the Amazon page should now be updated to the latest version. Check it out here.
